Bridesmaids & Guest Guide

PRODUCT RECOMMENDATIONS

Depending on your specific hair type, I’ll be happy to personally recommend products and prep - but for most guests, this is my Go To prep process for most hair types!

Favorite Shampoo & Conditioner - PUREOLOGY HYDRATE

Favorite Clarifying Treament for hard water or product build up - MALIBU

BLOWDRYING

Adding a volumizing mousse to your blowdry is highly recommended. Apply a few palmfuls to your roots + about 6 inches down to the midlengths and comb through.

These are my favorites - MOROCCANOIL or AQUAGE

For hydration and light hold, apply a light styling creme through the midlengths to the ends. not too much with this one… maybe start with a pea sized amount and add more if needed - MOROCCANOIL HYDRATING STYLING CREME

(All of the above products are available in travel sizes)

For coarser, frizzier hair I like MORROCANOIL FRIZZ SHIELD or SMOOTHING SERUM or COLORWOW DREAMCOAT. These products need to be the last product applied before blow drying or else they won’t let anything else absorb. Also, depending on your hair type, they may not be the best product to use if you want your hair to hold a curl in a down/half - up style.

Blowdry as smooth as you can - my favorite brushes to blowdry are the AVEDA PADDLE BRUSH followed by a BOAR BRISTLE ROUND BRUSH but many people prefer a heated blowdry brush like Dyson or Revlon for example.

The goal is to get your hair as smooth as possible before you sit down with me so I can spend less time prepping and more time styling! The fluffier and frizzier your hair is when you sit in the chair, the longer it will take me to smooth your hair before I can even begin to style.

PLEASE feel free to reach out to me with any product/prep/inspo questions ahead of time and I will be happy to go over questions and discuss options regarding your specific hair type.

ALSO PLEASE DO NOT wait until the morning of the wedding to try these products! It would be a sad day to find out that they don’t work for your hair!

CURLY HAIR

If you’d like me to style your natural, curly texture - please feel free to use your tried and true curl routine for products and drying your hair. I can plan to touch up your curls with my hot tools and style your hair from there. If you have extra curly, extra thick or extra long curly hair, please feel free to connect with me via email or text and we can go over a plan for your specific needs!

NON HAIR SPECIFIC TIPS

Don’t wear a top that needs to be pulled over the top of your head. If you’re choosing your getting ready outfits, choose silkier/slippery textures over stiff cotton, flannel or raised textured fabrics like seersucker. Also, avoid collars or hoods that might rub on your hair after it’s finished being styled.
